Blessed Are The Meek

As you study the character traits described in the Beatitudes, you can’t help but realize one thing; these qualities are by no means natural to the human spirit. They are very foreign. Poverty of spirit, true mourning over personal sins against God and meekness does not come to us naturally.

The greatest preacher of all time, Jesus Christ, proclaimed “Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.” (Matt. 5:5)
The Greek word for “meek” means to be gentle; to be strong, very strong, yet be humble and tender. It is a man with all the emotions and ability to take and conquer, but he is able control himself in all ways. It is a state of being disciplined — a man who is disciplined because he is God-controlled.

W. E. Vine writes: “Meekness is an in wrought grace of the soul; and the exercise of it are first and chiefly towards God. It is temper of spirit in which we accept His dealings with us as good and therefore without disputing and resisting.”

True meekness is a submissive and trusting attitude toward God. It is an attitude which considers all things that come your way as being for God’s good purpose in your life. Meekness looks beyond circumstances, no matter how upsetting and hurtful, and humbly bows the knee to the Sovereign God.

Jesus is the perfect picture of someone who was filled with the Holy Spirit (Luke 4: 1) and lived a life of true meekness. He had all the power needed to prevent His arrest and crucifixion, yet He surrendered to God’s will. (Matthew 26: 53 – 45) He fully understood the sovereignty of God and the results of the free will of man. Jesus said to Pilate, “You would have no authority over Me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.” (John 19: 11) Jesus knew that Judas Iscariot would betray Him. God used it to accomplish His plan of redemption, and yet Judas was and will be fully accountable before God. (Acts 1: 15 -19)

Man has strength to ignore God’s will or to take God’s gifts, talents, and abilities and use them for self or he may choose to use God’s good blessings to glorify the Lord. Without meekness, he will squander what is given to him by God to gain earthly wealth, self-satisfaction and fame (little or great).

The Beatitude of meekness epitomizes the results of kneeling in total submission to God’s will. It comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit and from allowing Him to produce Christ-like character in us. Are you craving that submissive spirit of meekness that bows and responds to the mighty sovereignty of God with joyful obedience? Meekness says, “not my will, but Yours be done.” (Mathew 26: 39)

The Bible says, “…the meek will inherit the land and enjoy great peace.” (Proverbs 37:11) Jesus says, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:29) The meek will rule and reign with Christ upon this earth someday. (2 Tim. 2:12)

True meekness is not a natural character trait. It can only be obtained by knowing Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord. Invite Christ into your life today a discover the joyful surrender of true meekness.

Keep believing.

How to Become A Christian

(Matthew 7:7 NKJV)”Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

This is the basic secret of becoming a Christian – you have to want to follow Jesus. I can’t make you follow Jesus, no-one can. Its between you and God. In your seeking there are a few facts that make the journey a whole lot easier and quicker.

We call this set of facts “the good news of Jesus Christ” or “the gospel” for short. This article is about the gospel and attempts to give you a few facts to help you believe.

Fact 1. Everyone, absolutely everyone has fallen short of God’s glorious holy standards for their lives. You might not have murdered but you probably have lied. You may not have slept with someone else’s wife or husband – but you probably have hated someone or been unjust or cruel. Sin is not just sexual sin or murder, it includes being greedy, jealous, and envious. It includes our thought life too! All that we think in our imaginations is known to God. That is why Paul the apostle can write: (Romans 3:23 NKJV) “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”. All includes me and it also includes you.

Fact Two: God is holy and just therefore He punishes sin. The Bible says: (Romans 6:23 NKJV) “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Sin carries the death penalty. There are two kinds of death referred to in the Bible – physical death and eternal spiritual death. Eternal spiritual death means going into torment in Hell forever and ever, it means separation from God, from goodness, from truth, from sanity, from happiness and light. It is eternal torment and disintegration. When we refuse to follow God and obey Him we are rebelling against our Creator and the Source of Life. If we rebel against the Creator it is us who lose. It is God who sustains us, not the other way around! When we tell the Source of Life to stay away from our life and not to interfere we are actually saying “don’t supply me with life”. To sin, to disobey God, is to attack ourselves in the long run. Its like speeding – fun until you have to stand before the Judge.Unfortunately the sentence for a life of sin is not a speeding ticket – it is eternal death.

Fact Three: Jesus took our punishment for sin when He died upon the Cross. God prepared a way for sin could be dealt with – through special sacrifices. In the Jewish sacrificial system this was a perfect animal without spot or blemish. Jesus was sinless and was the perfect sacrifice for all the sins of all people for all time. The Bible tells us that God saw that everyone had sinned and was in danger of Hell. He decided to rescue them by sending Jesus to die instead of them. Jesus died on the cross went down into the world of the dead, took our punishment fully and was raised from the dead three days later. Our sins were “nailed to the cross” and dealt with when Jesus died.

(Romans 5:8 NKJV) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Anyone who believes in Him can now have their sins forgiven because Jesus’ sacrifice has provided forgiveness for everyone who wants it. Some people are too proud to want God’s forgiveness. They think they can get to Heaven without the help of Jesus. But as we saw before they can’t- because they, like you and I, are guilty before God. And the thing about guilt is that it takes only one crime to make you guilty and deserving of punishment. A thief cannot say “but I did not kill” and a murderer cannot say “I did not steal” – their one crime makes them guilty. So it only takes one sin to make us guilty before God and no-one can say they are good enough for heaven. We all need to accept what Jesus did for us and say thank you to God for it if we are to become true Christians.

Fact Four: The way to become a Christian is by living by two key truths. These key truths are that Jesus Christ is Lord and that He rose from the dead. The first says that He is boss of your life, of your family, and even of the government. Jesus Christ is the “ultimate authority” ; He must be obeyed. So when you read the Bible and see a commandment of Jesus you must do it. Once you become a Christian you are like a soldier under the command of Jesus Christ. However His commands are not petty or small-minded. His commands are life-giving, true and the way to salvation and a fulfilling life. Jesus says “My yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Being a Christian is not meant to be an impossible struggle but a joyful celebtarion of life. The second thing we have to live by is that Jesus Christ rose from the dead. This means that we accept that He lived (how else did He die?), that He died (how else did he rise from the dead?), and that God raised Him from the dead on the third day. This means that we too will be raised from the dead to have a life that both lasts for eternity and shares the joy of heaven. The Bible states why we have to believe these things as follows:

(Romans 10:9-13 NKJV) that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. {10} For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. {11} For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” {12} For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. {13} For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

WHICH WINDOW?

Catherine Marshall wrote:

“My friend Marge had an experience aboard a plane bound for Cleveland, waiting for takeoff. As she settled into her seat, Marge noticed a strange phenomenon. On one side of the airplane a sunset suffused the entire sky with glorious color. But out of the window next to her seat, all Marge could see was a sky dark and threatening, with no sign of the sunset.

“As the plane’s engines began to roar, a gentle Voice spoke within her. ‘You have noticed the windows,’ He murmured beneath the roar and thrust of the takeoff. ‘Your life, too, will contain some happy, beautiful times, but also some dark shadows. Here’s a lesson I want to teach you to save you much heartache and allow you to abide in Me with continual peace and joy.

“‘You see, it doesn’t matter which window you look through; this plane is still going to Cleveland. So it is in your life. You have a choice. You can dwell on the gloomy picture. Or you can focus on the bright things and leave the dark, ominous situations to Me. I alone can handle them anyway.

“‘And the final destination is not influenced by what you see or feel along the way. Learn this, act on it and you will be released, able to experience the peace that passes understanding.'”

keep believing

Failure is part of our existence. To fail is human and to fulfill is of God.

There are many things I want to do in my life which is connected to my past and present failure. I know that many of us can connect to what I am in right now. There’s nothing more frustrating when we cannot do what we supposed to do compared to the things we just want to do. Part of personal growth is the acceptance of responsibilities and duties to everything and everyone that are laid before us. And I think I’m in that situation right now.

We do have limitations and we supposed to be reminded of that. This is the reality but not an excuse to the failures we’ve committed. It is not easy to handle since we know how to love and value our family inside our hearts even if many times being judged to be insensitive and uncaring. This certain judgment is being laid to God himself by us.

What is comforting in these moment is not the ideas of our limited human perception, but the promises of God have been written for us. It is not about religion, someone might not believe in this regard and I think that what makes the difference then, having faith. Anyone can believe in something or someone. What we think our minds met. Believe to achieve. These makes the difference in us, mentally, emotionally and spiritually, regardless if it is true or not. But the kind of faith that is more effective is believing to someone that is true, and it is our faith for God. Someone can deny the existence of God, but cannot prove it. It is not my job to show God to those who do not believe, but I can be a witness for the good things God has done as what I’ve experienced in my personal life.

It is God who created everything. And nothing he doesn’t know. He knows our shape and everything in us. His ways are higher than our ways and his thoughts are higher than ours. To sum it up there’s no reason for us not to trust Him with everything in us. I personally come to God and entrusted my desires and believe in my heart that he did it for me even if it don’t come yet. God works in our hearts the time we know his promises and we can know it by reading the Bible. I may share Isaiah 55:1,

Come, everyone who thirsts,
come to the waters;
and he who has no money,
come, buy and eat!
Come, buy wine and milk
without money and without price.”

Here we can see God who invites us to come to him. We can see that coming to God is a choice and God doesn’t push it however it is his will that all of us may come to him. God tells us that everything that we need he can provide and the best thing of all is that he can satisfy us totally. We may think of material things, that not bad to dream or ask God for it because it is God who actually gives everything and nothing we can claim we own. But God simply says that there is so much more than things, so much more than relationships, so much more than our wildest dreams, so much more anything we can think of and it is GOD Himself.

The presence of God is what we miss. We usually spend our time striving to live and getting what we need and enjoy it but fail to recognize the giver of everything. We can only be reminded of God when things went wrong and it is out of our control. It is true to all of us. We fail God a lot of times, but the best thing about God is that he doesn’t fail us.

Why it is that faith and failures were connected to God. I may say that, it is because God knows everything and he holds all things in His hand and he let things happen for us to have the privilege of knowing him in a way that he take us out from the darkest point of our lives or when we are down and it seem impossible for us to rise again, then he take us in His hands and lead us back to Him. He is there waiting for our call, if we desire the things concerning Him everything in life will be clearer to us. He is the source of everything. So keep believing.

Oh! I’ve lost it…

I feel so sorry for myself today..huhu.. unintentionally I have trashed my newest post and no way to have it back again.. Anyway, I just want to thank those who have read it and commented well. And I want you to know my friends that I just want to share, hoping that it will help somehow. Honestly, it is quite a bad thing to lose something we cherish. Well, I can do a little good for the next time.
And for those who were not able to read my previous post, let me share you about it. It is about how God answers our prayers. I know everyone of us have same experiences and this is what happened to me. Asking God’s favor is always the thing I do first in every step I want to take. I have shared about my new job. It is new to me and I find it hard to do all the processes. So I ask God’s guidance and wisdom. And the good thing is, He answered my prayer in a manner I haven’t noticed well. I can’t put it into details but the thing is, even if I consider myself helpless but then I came into the scenario that I became the helper.
After all, I have seen how God do great things in my life and answers my prayer. God gave me the knowledge and wisdom as I have trusted Him with all my needs. Asking God for wisdom is the secret for having it. And God himself write it down for us in James 1:5 the bible says “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” I believe in my heart God had given us everything we need but He challenge us to ask from Him because He wants us to know Him as a true God and not just part of our intellectual assent. God bless..  🙂

I’m home

time passed so quick. from work, now near my bed I type this words. i remember, I came from that far place and then reaching here. many things had changed…and it happened just as fast like I came from the job today. well, that how things really work. I almost forget the details but i remember how it feels. those times I am with those I love until time like this comes, when I am all alone.
It really doesn’t matter you know. it is not about how we should feel, but how we handle what we feel. The wind will blow and we don’t know where it goes. what really matters now is knowing what is right. and that there is always a way out. when you see no coincidence, but rather fate to the one who choose it. fate written by the unknown author of all times. the one that holds each blueprint of one’s existence. and he is the one set the time before anyone did. the one who gives me serenity and tranquility above the stormy seas. whose mind , no one can grasp and love no one can fathom. He is the One who take care for everyone.

another day…

i try to do something today that will contribute for my future desires. it is not easy to start things up but the most challenging instead. time is what matters now, spending to what really matters most.
my eyes are hooked to things i am doing this moment. a little nerdy though as I am sitting on this white mono-bloc chair. hands are positioned on this friendly keyboard. i’m a little focused here, anyway i need to do a lot of things today. just wanna say hi, to myself and to anyone who drops by.

a brighter day!
